On September 13, 2023, the official handover of three new ambulances for the needs of Aleksandrovska Hospital took place at the Moto-Pfohe office in Sofia. The vehicles are from the new Ford Transit light commercial range, transformed in Bulgaria using premium materials and technologies that meet the requirements of the European EN 1789 standard. Prof. Atanas Yonkov personally accepted the keys to the vehicles that will serve the hospital's patients.
Ford Transit Models
Ford Transit models provide almost unlimited possibilities for customization and transformation in the field of specialized vehicles. The Aleksandrovska Hospital ambulances feature the highest level of equipment and safety. The model holds the only gold award and the highest rating from the independent Euro NCAP in the one-tonne segment for safety systems and driver assistance technologies. They are equipped with a platform for the stretcher and feature autonomous cooling and heating systems, as well as a folding chair-type stretcher and a "board type" stretcher for patients with spinal injuries. The board features a strong, lightweight construction that is X-ray permeable and lighter than water.
FORD Ambulances
Every Ford ambulance is equipped with a suction installation. The suction outlet is located near the main stretcher and is fitted with a suction vessel of at least one liter, a pressure regulation valve, and a gauge. The installation consists of two oxygen cylinders with a shut-off valve and a volume of at least 10 liters each.
The sanitary compartment has autonomous heating and cooling. The ventilation system is two-way – supply and exhaust. It provides a minimum of 20 air changes per hour when the vehicle is stationary.
It is upholstered with a material resistant to mechanical and chemical damage that is easy to clean. The flooring provides adequate grip, including on wet surfaces.
