Range Rover has been confirmed as the Official Vehicle Partner for The Wimbledon Championships, bringing together two iconic British institutions for the first time.
The partnership will begin in 2024 and features a fleet of vehicles, including the luxurious new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in electric hybrids, to support the transportation of tennis players, their teams, and officials during the tournament.
The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in electric hybrids will be charged at The All England Lawn Tennis Club using 100% renewable electricity for near-silent travel during the Championships.
The Range Rover logo will appear on the serve speed monitors on Centre Court and No.1 Court at the Championships.
Range Rover announced their official partnership with Wimbledon, uniting the world’s oldest tennis tournament and the most luxurious SUV brand for the first time.
The Championships are the quintessentially British sporting highlight of the summer. Watched by millions worldwide, the prestigious Grand Slam tournament will be supported for the first time by Range Rover as the Official Vehicle Partner for 2024. The transition from Jaguar to Range Rover expands JLR’s support for the championships for over a decade.
Range Rover exemplifies stunning modern design, peerless refinement, and unmatched capability – the result of over 50 years of evolution, providing the most luxurious SUVs to customers worldwide. Every Range Rover is available as a plug-in electric hybrid, with the first all-electric Range Rover set to be introduced later this year.
The fleet, including the latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in electric hybrid models, will be used to transport players, their teams, and officials to and from designated locations during the Championships, utilizing on-site charging facilities to maximize Range Rover's all-electric range of up to 120 km.
Reducing vehicle emissions is a key component of Wimbledon's environmental commitment. The on-site charging infrastructure at the recently completed Indoor Tennis Centre is powered by renewable electricity and is capable of accommodating the growing number of hybrid and electric vehicles – a step forward toward the All England Club's goal of net-zero operational emissions by 2030.
Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director, Range Rover, said: “As an iconic British cultural event watched by millions around the world, the Championships offer the perfect opportunity for Range Rover to engage with our global clients through creative storytelling that perfectly captures the elegance and refinement of our vehicles and the synergy between our two modern luxury brands.”
Deborah Jevans, CBE, Chair of the All England Club, which organizes the Championships, said: “We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with JLR with the announcement of Range Rover as the Official Vehicle Partner of the event. I am particularly pleased with the inclusion of a significant number of lower-emission plug-in hybrid vehicles in the fleet, with a focus on as many journeys as possible being made in electric mode. This is another step toward our goal of achieving net-zero operational emissions by 2030.”
The Championships will take place from July 1 to 14, 2024, at The All England Lawn Tennis Club.
