The all-new Volvo EX60

The all-new Volvo EX60: Class-leading range of 810 km and charging as fast as a coffee and fuel stop

The EX60 outperforms even its newest competitors and every other electric Volvo ever created.

Whether you are planning a trip from Paris to Amsterdam, Los Angeles to San Francisco, or Stockholm to Oslo, the new all-electric Volvo EX60 SUV is a vehicle you can rely on.

With class-leading range

Up to 810 km on a single charge for the AWD version – the EX60 outperforms even its newest competitors and every other electric Volvo ever created.

This vehicle turns range anxiety into peace of mind and proves that switching to electric mobility is no longer a compromise. Volvo Cars engineers have optimized the EX60 for real-world driving conditions to ensure that customers' daily journeys are uncompromising.

“The EX60 is designed to be a game-changer,” says Anders Bell, Chief Technical Officer at Volvo Cars. “With our new electric architecture, we directly address customers' primary concerns when switching to an all-electric vehicle. The result is class-leading range and fast charging speeds, putting an end to range anxiety.”

The EX60 not only offers the longest range among Volvo's all-electric models but also charges faster than any previous electric model from the brand in all weather conditions. Instead of a long break, a short coffee stop is now enough to recharge the battery and continue your journey.

In practice, this means the EX60 can add up to 340 km of range in just ten minutes using a 400 kW fast charging station, making a charging stop almost as fast as a fuel stop. All EX60 customers receive a 10-year battery warranty.

The key to class-leading range is SPA3

The most advanced electric architecture from Volvo Cars to date, which serves as the foundation for the EX60. It ensures maximum efficiency of the vehicle's key systems and enables an electric range comparable to gasoline-powered cars.

Integrating the battery directly into the vehicle structure through cell-to-body technology and developing the electric motors in-house make the EX60 more energy-efficient and reduce excess weight. The new battery cell design carefully balances energy density and power, further increasing the range.

The EX60 is the first Volvo created using megacasting

A manufacturing process in which hundreds of smaller parts are replaced by a single high-precision casting. This reduces weight by about 200 kg, which again improves the range and increases the distance traveled.

Fast charging speeds are possible thanks to Volvo Cars' new 800-volt electrical system and internally developed software, which together transfer energy to the battery more efficiently. The use of lighter materials and less heat generation also supports faster charging, meaning the EX60 can add hundreds of kilometers of range in just a few minutes.

Smart algorithms developed by Breathe Battery Technologies, part of the Volvo Cars portfolio, are also implemented in the EX60. They allow the vehicle to constantly adjust how the battery accepts energy, keeping it in ideal operating condition at all times and in all weather conditions.

Designed for less frequent maintenance

Finally, as an electric vehicle with fewer moving parts, it is designed for less frequent maintenance. In other words, the EX60 is an electric car without compromises, designed to provide freedom of movement in the new and all-electric era.

- The range is indicative and based on WLTP testing standards obtained under specific conditions for the Volvo EX60. Real-world range may vary depending on charge level, vehicle specification, air and battery temperature, weather, terrain, driving style, and vehicle speed.

- Charging time may vary and depends on factors such as air temperature, battery condition, and vehicle condition. The charging time stated in this press release is based on tests at 400 kW charging stations.

The Volvo EX60 will be presented on January 21, 2026, and the entire event will be broadcast live.
